A History Lesson in Less Than 10 Minutes.

Any similarity between those living or dead is coincidental. Besides, it's the freakin' Sims and I have had this in my bookmarks for eons and I finally found a use for it(plus I needed the space for a video of an orangutan playing In-a-gadda-da-vida on the bongos).

Stone Cold Favorite

Back to this Rolling Stones tag theme. I guess that my favorite album would have to be Sticky Fingers(1971). The actual cover was one of a kind in it's own right. It featured a real workable zipper. So much for leaving to the imagination the thought behind the album's name. There is not one song on this album that I do not like. I can not say that for most of my favorites.
The following song is not from Sticky Fingers. I can post "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" anytime. The following video is from my two favorite R&R bands ever and together. Enjoy!

Favorite Stones' Song of All-time

Not much going on at the moment, thus the lack of written posts. I guess that no news is good news, or my life is in a rut. I do what I can to stay on the upper ridge. Last night, I went to Flavors on Main St. to hear my friend (in Christ), Pete and his band play. They are damn good. Three awesome guitar players and a drummer that kicks ass. Last night, in addition to a trumpeter and a saxophonist, Flavors had a bouncer/ doorman. If you have ever been to this restaurant/bar, you would know that this would be the equivalent of employing an armed guard to protect your $32.64 of copper in your piggy bank. His main job was to keep the patrons from leaving the bar with alcohol in their hands(o.k. if it is in your bloodstream). He also was there to keep one patron(me) from entering the bar with a non-alcoholic brew. In fact, after awhile, he said that I could not even be standing on the sidewalk drinking a Busch N/A. He was a real typical bouncer/doorman...a dickhead. Thursday night, I will be going to hear Roy Bookbinder with Tim, Critter(wife and bro) and a friend. Got to stay on the upper ridge. The following video has got to be one of the best versions of my favorite Rolling Stones' song. If you can find a better one, then post it. Hey look...I wrote something!

Slightly Different...oh, yeah!

Maybe You Can Take It With You

I was talking to an old friend last night (who happens to be a life insurance salesman).
Some people consider insurance to be a form of gambling. This is a false assumption. When you gamble, you can finish in one of three places: a winner, a loser or you can break even. Of course, you can choose not to play.
I figure that when I die, my body will be cremated and placed next to my sister in the plot at Parson's. A couple grand outta do it.
Not my old friend. He has made elaborate plans. He has in place four plots. One for his wife and three for him and his Corvette. He has instructed Sam at Holloway's to embalm him in a sitting position with his hands outstretched at 10 and 2.
Me, being me, had only one question: "What will be in your tape deck?".

His answer...

The Sordid Side of the Singles Sites.

(that's alliteration, by the way)

I found one singles site that goes to a whole new level.
I don't know if this is the money making side of this personals .com, or if these girls are just members who have found a way to make an extra buck. Either way, I have to give them credit for prospering in a tight economy.

Every time I click on this site, I get several "chat" requests from "hot" young women. I "chatted" with two last night and their m.o.s were basically the same.
They want your email address so they can send you the link for their web cam, and they want your credit card number. I decided to "play along" with one of them for amusement purposes only.

Otooooot69,F,26,brunette,catholic,CA i.m.'ed me and the following transpired as memory serves me:

o69: hi,sweetie
atgr: hello
o69: how is your evening?
atgr: boring
atgr: i'm on the internet, aren't i
o69: same you wanna get to know me better?
atgr: sure
o69: give me your email so i can send you the link to my web cam.
atgr: i don't have an email address
atgr: i am only 15
o69: oh
o69: do you have a credit card?
atgr: it is locked and i do not have the key
atgr: The key
o69: do you have a credit card?
atgr: a gas card
o69: huh?
atgr: my mom has a penneys card i'll get it
atgr: FUCKIN' PURSE!!! I cut my finger on a nail file!!!
o69: oh
atgr: sorry about the cussing...with you being catholic and all
o69: that's OK
o69: (sends link) go here
atgr: will you be there
o69: yes
atgr: what will you be wearing
o69: loose pants and shirts
atgr: SHIRTS?
atgr: is it cold there
o69: are you there yet?
atgr: i'm coming
o69: i'm naked now
atgr: so am I
atgr: and i am laying on a beach blanket with a bottle of baby oil
o69: (disappears from screen)

I doubt that Otoooot69 will want to "chat" with me again, but there are many more that will and I will certainly oblige.

I am not "lonelyin21801". I am "justboredatthemomentin09".

Friends and Foes

I lost two friends from facebook overnight. I hope that it was nothing I said.
I think that they both just had enough of the nonsense.

It appears that the eye care industry is not a friend of mine. I have to renew my license by December 19 and I took my application to Peninsula Eye Center to fill in my vision statistics. It was supposed to be ready last Tuesday. I am still waiting for their phone call.

I hope by the time I have to go to Motor Vehicles, I will at least have four friends left to accompany me. The way things are going, I may want to start looking for a chauffeur.

"Old and in the Way"

"God & Guns Tour" Stop

I had forgotten how small the venue really is. The next time that I go to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center, I will purchase a ticket in the cheap seats. I spent an extra $20 to get fifty yards closer to the stage.
Lynyrd Skynyrd put on a really good show, but the crowd as a whole was not "in to it" in my opinion. I stood the entire time and clapped and sang and hollered and enjoyed myself immensely. A good portion of the crowd acted as if they were at an opera.
The band did the usual standards: Simple Man, Tuesday's Gone, Gimme Three Steps and my personal favorite, Sweet Home Alabama(during which I gave Mister Young a two handed middle finger salute).
Quite a few of the audience members decided that the best time to beat the mad dash to the exits was right in the middle of the encore of the song that some of them probably came to hear in the first place.

Shame on you!

Mom, Apple Pie and Elvis

If you think about it, Elvis was the all-American boy.

He was a poor white boy that made his mark singing like a black boy.
He made millions of dollars and millions of fans.
He overindulged in all things before him. Drugs, alcohol, food and women.

A clinician would say that he did this because he was not happy.
I think that he was just bored.

This Song

reminds me of that time "Dirty" and I got stranded in Baltimore after an Orioles game in 1978. We ended up back at his parents house in Milford after several interesting rides.

What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits

I never did like this album by the Doobie Brothers that was released in 1974. The only song worth hearing is "Blackwater".
In 1973, they released the album titled The Captain and Me. It fared better in my opinion. "China Grove" is one of my favorites.
The year before came Toulouse Street. Two good songs were "Rockin' Down The Highway" and this tune:

These Ain't Your Father's Ticket Prices!

Pronounced Leh'-Nerd Skin'-Nerd

Friday, October 16, 2009 @ 8PM-WY&CC

The prices range from over a $100.00(Civic Club w/dinner-unavailable)to $89.50(soldout) to $55.oo (many good seats) to "in the building"($35.00).

In January 1981, I saw the Allman Brothers Band for $8.50 and I was sitting in upper reserve over the third base dugout.

Well, that was close to 30 years ago. Everything has gone up, you may ask.
Back in 1980-81, gas prices rose above $1.00 for the first time in history.
Today, the average price of a gallon of gas in our area is roughly $2.50.
At this rate, a good seat should only set me back about 21 bucks.

I ain't bitchin' about the price to see Skynyrd. I will be there. But, I am going to buy my $55 dollar ticket at the door. I have heard rumored that the Stones may be playing that same night at an assisted living facility in town. You know the one. The one that serves the best food in town, aka "The (I lost my uppers) Supper Club"!

Kickass Rock 'n Roll

(sight unseen)

I talked on the phone tonight with the parents of an old girlfriend. I am going to visit them tomorrow.
I met Betty and Harvey over 30 years ago, when their daughter brought me home from our first date. I had met Terry at the drive-thru window of Gino's earlier in the day. Instead of an apple pie to go with my Giant and fries, I got to meet a wonderful family that was part of my life for close to 3 years. Terry and I never got married and parted ways in 1980. We have always remained friends.
Betty told me tonight that her other daughter Tammy and her husband had collectively won $114,000.00 in Las Vegas. Betty said that she was "lucky" that way. I told Betty that she was the lucky one. Not at the "slots", but "lucky" in life.
Her and Harvey have been married for probably 50 years and have raised two daughters who have given them 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Now isn't that what life is all about?

This video is a tad strange (possibly John Hinckley,Jr.'s doodling), but it is the only one that I could find with Clarence Clemons on saxophone.

No mistake with this one...

Route Thirteen (f*ckin' fulcrum of frenetic fenders)

SWM: seeking stimulating conversation with cute girl.

I am not shy about revealing the fact that I am using the service of a dating site.
I have seen the future of intimacy and it's name is THE INTERNET.
I am currently on 4 dating sites(one pay-per-view).
Two as myself and 2 as myself as I appeared when the "Great Communicator" occupied 1600 Pa. Ave.
I think that I have finally met my match (both our words) in the 21st Century.
I have only seen this swf's pictures and talked to her on the phone for a total of 30 minutes, but I gotta feeling.
I think that she is the female version of me (think Seinfeld episode with Jeanne Garafola).
I know what you are thinking-'That relationship did not last 30 minutes'!
No, but Jeanne is way too ultra liberal for my tastes and I am not sure if she prefers the company of a male member(not that there is anything wrong with that).
If nothing comes of this first meeting, at least I am sure that I have found another friend.
But...I gotta a feeling!

Here Is That Fast Car You Wanted

Peaceful Easy Feeling

About 2 1/2 years ago, I came upon a blog while reading a comment on one of the Salisbury blogs. I had already become tired of all the negativity on the so called
local political sites. I was ready to delete them all and spend my spare time on
Then I started to read and comment on this new blog that I had found.
He always had good music, followed by what I call "words of wisdom". I wanted to do this also, but did not know how. This blogger gave me the instructions to start my own blog back in August 2007.
Starting my own blog was the beginning of my spiritual recovery. By putting my thoughts and feelings down on paper, I was able to come out of my shell and escape from my self imposed imprisonment.
Oceanshaman has decided to stop writing his blog and devote his talents to writing a novel. I wish him luck with his new venture.
His last "words of wisdom" ring true to my heart then and now.

There is no such thing as TRY...there is only DO or NOT DO.

I'm DOING it!
