I stumbled upon his comedy special last night on HBO.
I know, I know, I'm the last person on earth to discover this great comedic mind.
Better late than never.

That's Good!

I never had the following conversation with my father, but maybe my older brother did.
I do remember my mother stating that she would "scrub floors if needed" to keep her sons out of Vietnam.
The intro to this song is priceless. The song ain't bad either.
Now if I could just find the final scene from "Opie the Birdman", I could die in peace(just kidding).

Dream Strange

Every now and then I have this strange dream.
I suddenly remember that I forgot to feed the dogs.

I found these two dogs at the Humane society and brought them home.
I assume that I saved their lives.

Every now and then I have this strange dream.
I suddenly remember that I forgot to feed the dogs.

I returned these two dogs to the Humane Society.
I assume that I sealed their fate.

Every now and then I have this strange dream.
And when I go to feed the dogs they are still there.

That was almost 20 years ago.
That is a long time to carry that weight.

Good Bye, My Friend

I was shocked to read in today's obituaries that an acquaintance of mine had died.
I really did not know him that well.
In fact, I probably only spoke to him a dozen times or so.
For a short period of time,we both worked for the same company and held the same position.

This past Thursday I saw him for the last time.
I knew he had been ill, but I did not think that he would pass away so quickly.
He always had a smile on his face, even last Thursday.
And he never called me by my name.

It was always...
"Hello, my friend."
"How's it going, my friend?"
"Take care, my friend."

"Take care, my friend" was the last thing that I ever heard him say.

Happy Super Bowl !

Let's face the facts. The Super Bowl has become another national holiday.
In the grocery business it ranks only behind Christmas, Thanksgiving and A Chance of Flurries.
If you are in the avocado's "yeah, baby" time.

My internet connection sucks, so I will have to end this editorial now or I will miss the game.

My predictions:

Arizona will cover the spread.
Springsteen will perform "Born To Run".
No commercial will include any clowns (it's been done).

[How's that for going out on a limb].
