Quotes of the Day

What is your favorite line/lines from a movie?
I know...I know. There are so many to choose from.
Here is one of my favorites, followed by what I think creepy mcgee might add!

Quesadilla of the Day

What are your earliest memories of Fast Food eateries in Salisbury? Having arrived in 1968, I remember two: Burger Chef and Carrol's. If I'm not mistaken, both were walk up burger joints (i.e.-no dining area). Whenever our dog was missing, my mom would say, "Walk up to the Burger Chef and bring him home". I can't say with any certainty that the the old hound preferred one over the other, as he would eat liver and onions. But with his bad eye, I assume that he did not want to cross Rte.13 to get to Carrol's.

Enough Already !

I began this blog in August of last year. It seems a lot longer than ten months ago. I started it for several reasons. I was disenchanted with the hateful tone of the local blogosphere. I was looking for a divergence from the cluster fuck that is my life. I liked to write and I liked good music. I have written about everything from my earliest childhood memories to what happened yesterday. I have posted music vids that span nearly one hundred years. Over the last several days, I have had trouble replaying the vids that I have posted. Today I could not even hear or see the vids on another blog that I visit daily. I don't know what the problem is, as I am a computer idiot. All I know is the problem started soon after Mozilla/Firefox went to version 3. I don't think that this is the reason, because I had nothing to do with it. However, I did fuck up when I initiated this blog. When I typed in my email address I misspelled it. I told you I was an idiot. Now, every time I log in I see a warning sign that says that I have not verified my email address. Duh! I can't! It's not my valid email address. What's an idiot to do? Close up shop. I will not delete this blog. Maybe if I can figure out how to "Bake the cake and eat it too", I will return.

Re: Last Post

"No Volume" may well have been my last post if The Beatles could not be heard or seen by me.
Yesterday's post would not replay on my computer. The youtube videos would stop at :02 seconds or play through with no volume. So far, so good today. If it continues, I might as well shut this thing down. If I can't see or hear the music, then what's the point? I might as well be a sleeve face.

Is There A Doctor In The House?

I don't need a diagnosis...just a confirmation.
I believe that I suffer from ADHD (the adult version).
How do I know?
Because my Bookmarks grow everyday and I never use them.
Besides, the contents of my Bookmarks are all over the spectrum.
The following Bookmarks are my symptoms.
Can I get a diagnosis confirmation?

Sorry for the interruption, I think that I am cured now!

Name That Tune

I watched one of my favorite movies last night.
MICHAEL with John Travolta.
I like this scene and the ending song by Van Morrison.
I like the song that is playing in the background while Michael is explaining "angels".
Does anyone know the name of this background music?
If not, I will find it and post it.It will give me a mission in life!

Lighthouse Keeper: Day 24

24 straight days at work with no end in sight.
(except Powerball-more on that later).
Yes, I now know how a lighthouse keeper feels. We will plunk you out in the middle of nowhere and we will come and relieve you at some point.Maybe.
I have been lax in posting lately for several reasons.
1) I am overworked
2) My brother is in the hospital(that place is a cluster fuck)
3) I had an internet glitch(briefly).I think it was due to Mozilla/Firefox trying to set a world record for downloading version 3.
4) I am overworked
Back to Powerball.I have figured out a mathematical equation that will greatly increase my odds.It is similar to counting cards at Black Jack.Instead, I calculate the winning number using the following formula and guitar licks:

Pb=Dm+Dm/C+Dm/B+Bb+C+G+A+F

The odds are greater that I will wake up tomorrow and begin Day 25.

Until then,I will enjoy the music!

Remember Why We Came

For Sis (June 16,1953-August 17,2000)

Happy Father's Day To Me

As I type this post, I am wiping tears from my eyes.
I never made a million dollars.
I don't live in the best house on the best street.
I will work until I die.
I am a failure.

In my mind, however, I did do one thing right.
I think that I was a success as a father.

I spent the majority of my daughter's formative years side by side with her.
Looking back, I think she taught me more than I taught her.

She will be a success...No doubt in my mind...Having said that, I should strike that comment that I am a failure.

Here come those tears again!

I'm Appalled!

Rolling Stone magazine recently released the 100 Greatest Guitar Songs Of All Time.
I am not surprised that Johnny B. Goode came in first. Personally, I like Maybelline better(but what do I know).
"Brown Sugar" came in at #5, but I like the 25th pick by the Stones better-"Can't You Hear Me Knocking"(but what do I know).
#50-"Debaser" by the Pixies?
#75- "Willie the Pimp" by Frank Zappa?
#100- "Vicarious" by Tool?

Like I said, I'm appalled!

NO SAVOY BROWN!

NOT EVEN A MENTION OF FOGHAT?

GIMME A FUCKIN" BREAK!

(but what do I know).

If I knew anything,I would be not be working 7 days a week!

One of my favorite guitar songs of all time was the following by Mason Williams(followed by a new favorite by Link Wray).

That Smell?

Today was my first( sorta) day off in 3 weeks. I will have another (sorta) day off on Monday.A (sorta) day off for me is a day on the schedule that does not contain my name. However,I still have to go in to order provisions(some suck ass job I've got,eh?).
I got up as usual, had a cup of coffee, several cigarettes,ESPN,shave, shower, shampoo and out the door I went.
Whoa! What was that smell? Was my house on fire?I walked the perimeter and saw nothing.I went to the store to get gas and came back home.I still smelled smoke outside.I went back inside and checked out the house.Nothing burning in here and no smell of smoke.Reluctantly,I drove the 12 miles to work.Would my house and my mother still be standing when I came home. When I got to work,I even thought that I smelled a faint odor of smoke there.
Not until I got home(thank God all was fine) did I find out the cause of the smell.
The fire and the source of the smell was emanating from North Carolina and Virginia.Nearly two weeks ago lightning started a wildfire that now encompasses about 40,000 acres.I never imagined that the smell of smoke could travel that far.Now I know.

Feel Like Letting My Freak Flag Fly

Haven't had a day off in two weeks.Maybe the middle of next week before I can sleep in.Maybe. I have postponed several Doctor appointments due to my job. I went to get a haircut yesterday, but evidently Saturday is haircut day in this town.It was standing room only.Fuck it, let it grow. My hair and my beard. I feel like letting my freak flag fly AGAIN!

Blue Bird

I was searching for an Elton John song that I don't know the name of (...blue bird sitting on a telephone line???) and found this instead. I will post it and some Elton.

The Robert Jeffrey Band

Writing a music blog is like panning for gold.
Most of your time is spent searching.
Occasionally you find a nugget.

I really like this band's version of "Southern Man". So much that I raised by bic lighter for an encore. This band has been around since I was a kid and is composed of 3 brothers,1 wife, 1 friend and the father of the 3 brothers.

Here are two original songs by this group. The first is "Horse With No Saddle", followed by "Did It Occur To You". This second song has a familiar guitar sound to it. If I close my eyes, I can almost hear Dickie Betts on guitar.

PEACE,My Brother

There is a bad ass storm overhead, but I don't care.If it is my time...so be it!
I am posting a video for my blogger brother, as he is under the weather.
I hope that I don't disappoint?

The Earl of Numnah

If someone stumbled onto this blog by mistake, he or she would not have a clue to what I was talking about. I will be the first to admit that I do not know what I am talking about...the second to admit that I don't have a clue...and the third to admit that this blog may have been a mistake.

I keep trudging along for three reasons:

1) I have a few readers that get it.
2) I like to do it.
3) I get to sit down for a few hours a day.

To further confuse all involved...hit play!

Have You Gone To a Huge Sports Game? *

*thanx to zoomabooma for the idea.

Why yes I have!

In 1982 on the last weekend of the season, the Milwaukee Brewers only had to win one game to win the A.L.East title. The only problem was that they had to play on the home field of the team that was nipping at their heels.
The Brewers came to Memorial Stadium on Friday with a record of 94-64. The Baltimore Orioles were in second place at 91-67.
Records show that the two teams played a doubleheader on Friday, both games won by the home team.I had the first game on the radio as I drove to Glen Burnie to see my soon to be ex-girlfriend.We watched the second game on TV.
On Saturday, the two of us went to the game. The O's were one game back.If they could pull out a win, they would tie the Brewers with a record of 94-67.
Well they did!
On Sunday, my soon to be ex and I, along with my brother and someone that I do not recall attended the playoff game that ended the season for our team and our manager.
The Orioles lost to the Brewers 10-2.
When the game ended and the festivities began, you would have thought that my team had won the the game and were headed for the playoffs.
Never in my life did I think that I would die due to a stadium collapse until that day.
After the last out, the stands were actually moving(and concrete should not move).
The reason was that it was Earl Weaver's last game.
Yes I have!
